Our Board
The Cedar Ridge Pops Board is a diverse collection of dedicated and
hard working volunteers. They are drawn not only from the Cedar
Ridge community but also Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny Township and
Toronto.
Our Volunteers
We rely greatly on the sterling efforts of our many volunteers.
Without the close involvement of the Lafontaine Firefighters and the
Lafontaine Women’s Auxiliary, it would not be possible to produce
such a high quality event.

About Cedar Ridge Pops
Our Mission
To bring the highest quality classical music to rural Ontario;
To bridge relationships between local residents and cottage
communities;
To spread philanthropy from wealthy sources in the GTA to rural
Ontario;
To build and prudently manage a specially created endowment;
To delight donors through exceptional services at the summer event;
To select the best and most needy recipients of rural Ontario thus
connecting philanthropy to community needs;
To grant monies with integrity, sensitivity and creativity;

Our History
Founded in 2001 by Andrei & Tatiana Manoukovski, the Cedar Ridge Pops is
an annual classical music festival under the open skies of Georgian
Bay, where guests can enjoy wonderful music, exceptional food and
wine in the great outdoors, while raising money for rural Ontario
charities. The event takes place in the Cedar Ridge community which
is just north of the Midland/Penetanguishene area of Huronia.
The festival was named “Cedar Ridge Pops” after a famous Boston
Symphony Orchestra summer Pops festivals in Tanglewood, which had
been originally modeled 100 years ago after lighter summer concerts
in Europe.
This year again, the concert will feature Mayumi Seiler and the Via
Salzburg Orchestra! A light but exciting program of classical music
will be presented along with some up and coming Canadian and
international soloists.
The event has a unique character as it integrates the efforts of the
local people with seasonal Toronto residents to raise money for
Huronia charities in need. Thus, instead of re-distributing the local
pool of charitable commitments, we try to add financial resources
from the GTA to struggling recipients of rural Ontario communities.
The Cedar Ridge Pops has been attracting over 500 people annually,
making it the largest one-day fundraiser and classical music event
held in Ontario outside of the GTA. |
